Global Android 8.0 ROM For Korean Galaxy S7

Samsung is rolling out the stock Android 8.0 update for Galaxy S7, but it is currently for SM-G930 F&FD models. Other models need to wait for a few weeks. We know many of you here are eager to experience the Android 8.0 version on your Galaxy S7. So, this post today, we are going to help you update your Galaxy S7 to the Android 8.0 Oreo. Although it’s not an official firmware from Samsung, you can easily flash it through Odin tool without any trouble. Keep reading this post to flash the firmware.

Once you know the pros and cons of this firmware, let’s start the process. However, before proceeding, you should meet some requirements first:

  • Back up all data on your Galaxy S7 since the process will format all the internal storage
  • Your device must be at least running on Android 7.0 version
  • Go to Settings > Account and log out your Google account as well as Samsung account. This step is very important because your phone will be stuck at the “verify Google account” screen when setting up for the first time.
  • Go to Settings > Developer Options and enable OEM Unlock option.

How To Update Korean Galaxy S7 To Android 8.0
  1. Download and install Samsung USB driver on your computer
  2. Download and extract the Odin v3.13.1
  3. Get the Android 8.0 ROM from this link: 8.0.0.GlobalROM.Dualsim
  4. Switch your phone off and boot it into the Download by pressing the combination keys: Vol Down + Home + Power. Once you see the warning screen, just press the Vol Up button
  5. Connect your Galaxy S7 to the computer and launch Odin. If the ID:COM is blue, it means the connection is successful
  6. Click on the AP button and browse to the folder containing the Android 8.0 firmware
  7. Click on Start button and wait for about 5-10 minutes. Once done, your phone will automatically boot into the recovery mode
  8. From here, choose WIPE/ FORMAT DATA and tap on Yes to confirm

Your phone will need around 5 minutes for the bootup process. Once done, you can taste the Android 8.0 Oreo on your Korean Galaxy S7.  If you want to root your phone and install Samsung Galaxy Gift, download these two files and flash it through recovery.
