Android 8.0 Oreo Beta Update For OnePlus 3/3T

Google has officially rolled out the stable Android 8.0 Oreo firmware update for the supported Pixel and Nexus series last month along with the Security Patch level of August. The September security patch with the security bulletin is now available at hand. Other OEM manufacturers like Sony have already started releasing the September update for some of its premium smartphones like Xperia XZ. And OnePlus is finally testing the Oxygen OS Open Beta 24 and Beta 15 version based on Android 8.0.0 Oreo for OnePlus 3 and 3T. The company is expected to be rolling out the Oxygen OS close beta to some testers. That explains that the Open Beta 24 could most likely be built on the Android 8.0 Oreo version. The OTA update will reportedly roll out in mid-September or until to the end of the month. Those who are expecting the HydrogenOS H2OS firmware update can get the public beta 21/15 before the official Oxygen OS update. So you should stay tuned.

Some OnePlus 3/3T closed beta testers have just shown a few screenshots of their device running Android 8.0 Oreo firmware. If everything is right, OnePlus will be the first OEM manufacture to release the Android Oreo for its smartphone.

The manufacturer should be fast as once the OnePlus 3/3T phones have successfully been updated to Android Oreo, OnePlus must pay attention for releasing the Open Beta for OnePlus 5. According to some reports, Android 8.0 will be the last update OnePlus 3/3T devices. However, the phones will still receive the monthly Security Patch updates. The official stable Oxygen OS 5.0 comes after two months. Hence, the OnePlus 5 Open Beta program will start after that.
